It is a big nerdy thrill for me when a new pattern walks in the door and we meet for the very first time. When Mr. UPS man brings that first box in the door, I open it with delicate curious respectful excitement.

I gently open the box top, look in, and gaze upon the stacks and stacks of Girls looking up at me. Taking the first new pattern out of the box is like making the first footprint in a perfect bed of snow or smooth sandy beach.

In prep for her arrival, here are a few notes about interfacing and a giveaway.
Interfacing: 45″ vs 20″ wide goods
Candice supply list calls for 45″ wide interfacing. The Bosal med/heavy #334 and Pellon Shape Flex #SF101 come on 20″ bolts.
For Shape Flex lightweight interfacing, buy 1 .5 yards or more. A few cutting options shown below.
For Bosal #334 med/heavy interfacing, buy 1 yard and use the same cutting layout in the Candice pattern.

Candice – not only eye candy but practical and smart. Love the original fabric and also the Nancy Mims fabric. Candice really makes a fashion statement.

I love the new Candice. Now, this may sound strange, but I like her layout because it keeps a nice “clean” exterior. The diagonal pattern seems to enhance rather than break up the exterior fabric pattern.
BTW, I’m a weaver of fine exotic fabrics for garments, plus. This is why I’m so happy with your latest design. It is as if you made it for me!

Really like this pattern! It caught my eye for traveling; with the special pockets so I can safely carry my iPad with me when I travel. I am just getting back into sewing, this will be my first big project after the several small items I’ve already tried for practice.

I look forward to trying out Candice, she looks like she has simple lines and could be carried along on any occasion. I liked your comment about opening the box being like the first one to setting foot in the new show.
Love the pockets, so handy that are a lot of pockets. And the sturdy bottom is something that is a must have for bags in my opinion. So I leke that a lot and de D-rings make it look so profesional.
And with the zipper is is realy a bag you can use to go shopping or to take to meeting.

I love Candace! I have Miranda and she is great. I was a first-time purse maker and found the instructions really easy to follow, thank you. You hooked me with Miranda. I have made her with vinyl, cotton, and a combination. I lengthened the straps, made her bigger, smaller, taller and shorter. All my friends wanted one. I love the versalitility and can’t wait to get Candace home.

Being a quilter, I have just started to consider making a bag – this one does it for me. A grab and go for anywhere from shopping to dinner to any kind of function to church. It is very eye-catching, very appropriate and tasteful for everyone. Beautiful choice of color. I would be proud to carry it and for me that says a lot.

I really like this pattern. I have never finished making any bag I ever started, but this looks lioke something I would not only finish, but actually USE! I like when I walk into a quilt shop with one of your bags and the girls that work there say I love your “Claire” bag (or whatever pattern it may be). That’s my test. I love this. Planning on one for me and one for my daughter for Christmas. Although now that she has a sewing machine and her own sewing room in her new house maybe I’ll get her the pattern, innerfacing and rings.

Yes, Candice and I could be great BFFs! I’ve been looking for a bag to tote all my “necessaries” since I’ve been job hunting…resumes, references, networking cards,electronic gadgets, phone, pens and pencils, etc. Candice would be perfect! Of course, she might have to be made in several fabrics to go with my business clothes as well as jeans! I’d love to have her come to my home.
